Basic Boat Safety

Susin Lake is a very small lake with less than 50 acres of water surface, so we must work together to assure safe boating. The small size of the lake dictates that boats towing skiers, boarders, tubes, etc, must be especially vigilant and follow the rules.

Also, everyone should be aware that PWCs (jet skis, etc.) have additional rules that must be followed including following the counter-clockwise rotation.

Because we are all neighbors, we should discuss unsafe practices with the offender to let them know about our safety concerns.Report unsafe boating by calling 911 for emergency situations, or by calling the Oakland County Sheriff Marine Division at 248-858-1664.
